Named for Greg & Amy Troyer. The shop started small in 2000 and stayed local on purpose.
GreAT Signs started over two decades ago in a basement with a simple idea: Lancaster County businesses deserve a sign shop that listens, delivers what it promises, and stands behind its work.
Today, Greg and Holly run the shop with the same approach. No corporate playbook. No franchise formulas. Just honest work, fair pricing, and signs that last.
That HVAC van idling at the Wawa on Route 30 probably came from our shop. The real estate sign in front of the property on Harvest Drive. The window graphics at the restaurant in Intercourse. The fleet wraps on the delivery trucks heading into Lancaster. We don’t put our name on these signs because your name is what matters.
After 25 years in Lancaster County, we’ve quietly become part of the visual landscape. Not by being the loudest or the cheapest, but by being the shop businesses call when they need it done right. Every contractor who needs magnetic signs by Thursday for a Friday job. Every church preparing banners for their annual fundraiser. Every new restaurant owner wondering if their window hours will be visible from the parking lot.
We’ve learned that most businesses don’t need a salesperson in a sign shop. They need someone who listens, understands their actual problem, and solves it without unnecessary complications or costs.
Greg’s the Production Manager and the creative force behind your signs. Originally from Ohio, he’s been a volunteer firefighter for 25 years, which taught him everything about teamwork and getting things done under pressure.
He’s self-taught in the sign industry, which gives him a different perspective than most. After running this business for over 20 years, he’s seen what works and what doesn’t. What lasts and what fails.
Greg’s a morning person who believes hard work pays off (just not overnight) and that details matter. His goal is simple: make sure you leave smiling by under-promising and over-delivering.
When he’s not designing signs or managing production, he’s buying storage lockers and finding hidden treasures. Yes, really.
Holly handles the business side and makes sure every detail is correct before your order goes out. She came to Pennsylvania from Cape Cod at 21 and has been here ever since.
With an accounting background, she brought structure to what started as a basement operation. She’s spent years serving in leadership roles as part of her ongoing commitment to serving businesses in the community.
Holly’s passionate about getting things right the first time. She listens to what you actually need, asks the right questions, and ensures you get exactly what you ordered. Her approach is built on integrity, honesty, and making sure clients have the best experience possible.
She’s also a Disney enthusiast who loves cooking and, oddly enough, also buys storage lockers. (It’s apparently a thing around here.)
We all agree, it’s not just what you do but how you do it. Quality work should be table stakes in our industry. Believing in the people we do our work for is core to how we engage with all of our customers.
Seeing our work support your business is what makes GreAT Signs so great to us.
We listen first. Most businesses don’t need a sales pitch. They need someone who understands their actual problem and solves it without complications.
We recommend honestly. If a simpler solution works, we’ll tell you. If you need to spend more for materials that will last, we’ll explain why. If your timeline is unrealistic, we’ll say so before taking your deposit.
We deliver what we promise. Our quotes include everything. Our timelines account for reality. Our quality standards are the same whether you’re ordering one sign or fifty.
We fix problems quickly. If something isn’t right, we make it right without excuses or runarounds.
After 25 years, we’ve figured out what matters:
The right option beats the most expensive option. Sometimes simple lettering accomplishes more than a full wrap. Sometimes aluminum is worth the extra cost because cheap materials fail after one Pennsylvania winter.
Deadlines aren’t flexible. When you promise graphics by Monday for a Tuesday job, Monday matters. When a business commits to a grand opening, their signs need to be ready.
How you handle mistakes defines you. Problems happen. We fix them completely and move on.
Relationships last longer than transactions. Many of our customers have been with us for decades because they know what they’re getting: honest guidance, quality work, fair pricing.
We know Lancaster County roads, weather, and traffic patterns. We know what survives Pennsylvania winters and what doesn’t. We know where your signs will be seen and how they need to perform.
This knowledge shapes every material recommendation, design decision, and installation method. It’s the difference between signs that last and signs that fail.
